The Cosserat company - created in 1794 - is the oldest corduroy producer in the world.  For more than 200 years has been produced there in a traditional way famous "Corduroy of Amiens", a synonym of "authentic corduroy".  Whereas today no more production of this fabric is produced in Manchester, another centre of the manufacture of Velvet, this one continues to produce in Amiens.

Cosserat profits from a very broad experiment of the production of velvet (original processes for the cut) and of its ennoblement (various technologies of brushing and dyeing). Cosserat is one of the last producers in the worldstill knowing to cut extremely fine corduroys, of more than 30 wales per inch, thanks to its process of continuous cut to the foil. Its PALATINE quality (registred trademark) illustrates this particular know-how.

Cosserat offers a complete corduroy range in all the numbers of wales, fix or extensible as well in warp as in weft.  Among these extensible articles in warp qualities JONDEX and TIGNES are particularly known. Besides of corduroys, Cosserat has a long experience in the production of flat fabrics as well fix as extensible in warp , in weft or Bi-extensible, on bases of cotton, linen, polyester, modal, polyamide or in a mixture of these different components.

Cosserat is also a specialist in the production of Suedines and Moleskines. 

Our productions are as well intended for the clothes industry of clothing as to the applications of the industry of furnishing.

Under brand COSSERAT KS, a broad fabric range is also proposed for the working clothes. 

Our machine stock as well enables us to treat great quantities at keen prices as to manufacture small series or sampling.
Moreover, we have stocks in many colours and a broad pallet of qualities, manufactured within the framework of our never
out of stock programm (NOS). Of the kind we can quickly serve our customers without having to ask for significant minima of order to them.

So that the final customer can buy and compare the quality of the articles, Cosserat provides its customers, to their request, of the labels paperboard and the woven labels intended to be posed on their clothing.
